Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on https://paulomeireles.pt, in compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
Last updated: August 2026
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser. They allow, for example, maintaining preferences or measuring audience. Not all technologies described here are cookies in the strict sense: local storage (localStorage) serves a similar function and is covered by this policy.
2. Current status
This website does not use cookies for audience measurement, profiling, or advertising. Specifically:
- No analytics cookies are placed (e.g., Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom).
- No marketing or third-party cookies are placed (e.g., Meta, Google Ads).
- The administrative area (/admin) uses a strictly necessary session cookie (
pm_admin_session) to maintain the data controller's authentication — see section 3. - No cookie consent banner is used because all cookies in use are strictly necessary and exempt from consent. If non-essential cookies are introduced, a consent mechanism will be presented in accordance with the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and the LGPD (Brazil).
3. Strictly necessary technologies
The following storage technologies are used, exempt from consent as they are necessary for the basic functioning of the interface:
- Theme preference (public site) — stored in
localStorage(keypm-theme) to remember the chosen light/dark theme. Never leaves your browser. - Administrative session cookie —
pm_admin_session(httpOnly, signed HMAC-SHA256, 7 days). Only set in the administrative area/adminto maintain the data controller's authenticated session. Not placed for visitors of the public site. - Backoffice theme preference — stored in
localStorage(keypm-admin-theme), only in the administrative area.
4. Third-party cookies
No third-party cookies are placed. Embedded content (e.g., external links to LinkedIn or the Google Play Store) may set their own cookies when you interact with them on those sites; such processing is governed by their respective policies, not ours.
5. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Only the theme preference will be affected (the site will return to the default theme).
6. Changes to this policy
If non-essential cookies are introduced (for example, with the addition of analytics), this policy and the Privacy Policy will be updated and an appropriate consent mechanism will be presented.
